Form 8A and Form 6 are used for different situations: Form 8A is used when you change address within the same assembly constituency. Your EPIC number remains same, only address changes. Form 6 is used when you move to a different assembly constituency. You need to submit Form 6 for new registration in new constituency and Form 7 for deletion from old constituency. Form 8A process is simpler and faster (15-20 days). Form 6+7 process takes longer (20-30 days) and you get new EPIC number. For Form 8A: Same constituency, same EPIC. For Form 6: Different constituency, new EPIC. Choose correct form based on whether you're moving within same constituency or to different constituency.

To check if duplicate Voter ID entry exists: 1) Visit electoralsearch.in (official ECI website), 2) Enter your details (name, father's name, age, state, district), 3) Search electoral roll, 4) Check if your name appears multiple times in same or different constituencies, 5) Check with different spellings of your name, 6) Check in your native place and current city, 7) If you find duplicate entries, note the EPIC numbers and constituency details, 8) Submit Form 7 for deletion of duplicate entries, 9) Provide both EPIC numbers in application, 10) You can also check through NVSP portal using your mobile number.
